Isaiah 61 Ministries

Final Deliverables: Logo Package | Brand Guidelines | Informational Brochure

Isaiah 61 Ministries is a nonprofit organization based in Waynesboro, Virginia, offering free biblical counseling services to their community. Prior to rebranding, Isaiah 61 Ministries was using a picture as their logo. While they liked the imagery in the picture, which combined a dove, a cross, and pages of a Bible, they recognized its limitations. They wanted a logo that could be used for any marketing and advertising purposes, without sacrificing quality. They sought a logo that would build credibility for and recognition of their ministry.

Logo Option 1

Isaiah 61 Ministries prioritized growth in the individuals that come to receive counseling. They were drawn to the symbolism of growth within trees and plants. This first logo option incorporates a sprout to represent not only growth, but also to demonstrate the new life available to us through Jesus Christ. The green color palette continues was also selected to further reinforce the value of growth.

Logo Option 2

The second logo option incorporates an abstract tree with roots and leaves. The three roots are symbolic of the Holy Trinity. The three leaves represent Isaiah 61 Ministries’ mission to help people find their healing, wholeness, and freedom in Christ. The trinity is the roots, and out of the roots come healing, wholeness, and freedom. Instead of using a green color palette, representing growth, this logo package uses a blue color palette to convey trust and reliability.

Logo Option 3

After seeing a couple of options, Isaiah 61 Ministries ultimately decided that they were not ready to let go of their previous icon. They still recognized the value of having an official logo that could increase professionalism and be used on all marketing and advertising materials. Therefore, they asked to refresh their logo using the typography in both options shown above and implementing the blue color palette from option 2. The icon was simplified from the previous photo they had been using, while still including the cross, dove, and pages from the Bible.

Once this logo was approved, a set of brand guidelines was created to build consistency in their visual branding moving forward.
